The face behind Room For 5!

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

I just thought I would introduce myself, if you’ve already clicked on the ‘about us’ button on the main website homepage, you will have an idea of why I created this website but if not, here goes a short bio!

My name is Drina Murphy, I live in South Yorkshire, England and I had the idea of Room For 5 many years ago whilst travelling with my family of 5.  Most hotels only had family rooms to accommodate the stereotypical family of 4 so that left the only option of booking two rooms and having the added inconvenience of being separated, neither options were ideal but they were unfortunately neccessary if we wanted an overnight stay:(  I did, however, find the odd accommodation that suited us but it took a lot of hours searching on the net.  At the time I never had the knowledge to create a website for this purpose but after doing a distance learning course, I managed to learn enough to create this website to find these elusive rooms and help bigger families like ours!

Ultimate Blog Party 2012As I imagined, the website has become very popular and is going from strength to stength, this problem is not only in the UK, it affects big families everywhere, particularly in Europe and my mission is to find enough of these rooms so that big families will have as much choice as families of 4 or less.

I use this blog to highlight towns & cities that have hotels that can accommodate big families as well as things to do in the area.  I hope that it is useful to  families and that Room For 5 continues to help big families all over the world!
