Aquitaine Bike Hire - Coux-et-Bigaroque

Why not  hire bikes for the day and have a family day out enjoying the beautiful French countryside?  They deliver and collect the bikes free of charge to your hotel, holiday home, or campsite (up to 30 km from their base, beyond that a charge is applicable)

The best cycling conditions are to be found in the Dordogne: quiet country roads to suit all levels of riding, beautiful scenery, and one of the cleanest rivers in Europe to cool off in… La Dordogne. This region is a treasure of natural beauty and is exceptionally rich in prehistory sites and historical points of interest.

Font De Gaume – Les Eyzies-de-Tayac

Since its discovery in 1901, dozens of polychrome paintings have been found in the tunnel-like Grotte de Font-de-Gaume.  Stocks of artists’ materials have also been found: kilos of prepared pigments; palettes – stones stained with ground-up earth pigments; and wooden painting sticks. Painting was clearly a specialized, perhaps professional, business, reproduced in dozens and dozens of caves located in the central Pyrenees and areas of northern Spain.

Be aware that tickets sell out fast and only two hundred people are allowed to tour the cave each day; advance booking, several days ahead in peak season, is essential.

Price: Adults €7, Children – FREE
