Best Western Chiswick Palace & Suites
We have an apartment that sleeps 5 and consists of 3 bedrooms, 5 beds, living space and kitchenette.We also have a family room that sleeps 6 and consists of 1 king bed, 1 single, 2 sofa beds and twin bed.
Barry House Hotel
We have a large family room for 5 (1 king size bed plus 3 single beds) on the ground floor with en suite shower/toilet. The rate is £140-00 per night including English Breakfast.
When you need to contact a hotel/guesthouse for any reason, some contact forms can be a real pain. There are the ones that just require your name, email address and message and these are fine but what about the ones that seem to want every detail from you? You just want to know what the family room is like and find yourself having to fill in information on dates you require, length of stay, even my address etc. I’ve even had forms that want me to become a member of their website and require my date of birth, what’s that all about?? I wonder how many people have been put off by these forms and have just not bothered, I know I have bypassed a few. Why do these establishments require my name, address and date of birth just so I can make an enquiry?
Anyway you’ve decided to fill out the form and spent the last 10 minutes filling in all the information required only to press submit and it go to a “page cannot be found page” or just return to the contact form and you don’t know whether its been sent or not!! So frustrating!!!
I am shocked at the amount of failed messages I am receiving from Hotels & Guesthouses. For every ten I email I get about 2 back that are not valid anymore. Can you imagine how much business they are missing out on? Particularly from foreign guests who need to use email as calling the hotel can be quite costly and daunting, particularly for non native speakers. Email is a fundemental part of everyday life and is more favourable than the traditional snail mail so come on Hotel/Guesthouse owners get your finger out and check your email addresses are valid!!
I decided to start this blog to document my progress with finding rooms for families of 5 or more. I started Room for 5 because I was so frustrated at the lack of family rooms available for families of 5 or more (read more in my about me page) so as you can imagine I knew this wasn’t going to be an easy process. I first started out by looking in search engines for keywords like, “family room for 5″ , ”family room sleeps 5″ to find rooms thats were available, then I used the same keywords but added key areas like London, Paris & major Airports. It wasn’t long before I had exhausted all options on the search engines. I have been using hotel search engines and actually putting specific requests in but I have to say they are not helpful. Even when I key in room = 1, guests = 5, the results were disappointing and not acurate. I have emailed thousands of hotels to find these sought after rooms and after 4 months I now have over 500 hotels listed worldwide on Room for 5. Most of these rooms are not even listed on the hotels website so people don’t know about them so i am sure there are lots more out there, on with the quest!!
