Over the last thirty-five years, the ASHOF has become the benchmark for other Sports Museums across the country, with over 5,000 sports artifacts elegantly displayed in the 33,000 square foot building. Out of ESPN’s list of the top 100 athletes of the century, five out of the top fifteen greatest ever are in the ASHOF: Jesse Owens, Hank Aaron, Joe Louis, Willie Mays, and Carl Lewis.

Birmingham Zoo - 2630 Cahaba Road

The Birmingham Zoo is Alabama’s most popular attraction, drawing more than 500,000 visitors annually. Approximately 750 animals of 250 species call the 122-acre Birmingham Zoo home, including sea lions, kangaroos and endangered species from six continents.

Ruffner Mountain Nature Center - 1214 81st Street South

Ruffner Mountain Nature Center is a 1,011 acre natural oasis located on one of the last undeveloped stretches of the Red Mountain ridge known as Ruffner Mountain. Just a 10 minute escape from downtown Birmingham, AL, feels like a world away. Enjoy a short stroll or explore the mountain for an all day adventure. Miles of peaceful forested trails with surprising biodiversity, wetlands teaming with wildlife, remnants of our past mining history, and spectacular views from several overlooks await those who venture out.

Rickwood Field - 1137 Second Avenue West

Built in 1910 for in the city’s then-professional baseball team, the Coal Barons, Rickwood Field is being restored to look the way it did in its 1940s heyday, all the way down to the hand-operated scoreboard. Wearing old-time uniforms, the Birmingham Barons play the annual Rickwood Classic. Baseball greats who played at Rickwood include Babe Ruth, Rogers Hornsby, “Shoeless” Joe Jackson, Ty Cobb and Birmingham’s own Burleigh Grimes, the last legal spitball pitcher in the big leagues. Rickwood was also home to the Birmingham Black Barons Negro League team, which brought the likes of Satchel Paige, Piper Davis and local teenage phenomenon Willie Mays to play here.

The Southern Museum of Flight - 4343-73rd Street North

The Southern Museum of Flight is dedicated to presenting civilian, military, and experimental aircraft and memorabilia from the earliest history of powered flight. The 68,000 square foot facility houses over 75 aircraft, as well as engines, models, artifacts, photographs, and paintings. In addition, the Southern Museum of Flight is home to the Alabama Aviation Hall of Fame with over 65 biographical plaques presenting Alabama aviation history through collective biography.

Ok, I have managed to find a few places to sleep 5 or more in Wyoming, here are just a few that I have listed:

The Lexington at Jackson Hole – Trapper Inn & Suites
The Lexington at Jackson Hole – Trapper Inn & Suites – Jackson Hole Hotel is downtown Jackson’s newest all Suite hotel featuring 47 suites, 6 luxury guest rooms and 36 renovated guest rooms. At our convenient location one and a half blocks from Jackson’s Historic Town Square, shopping, dining, and entertainment await you.

Uur suite style rooms are perfect for families. The bedding in these room types is two queen beds plus a couch(non-sleeper) in the suite area. We also utilize air-beds in these rooms. The max occupancy for these rooms is 6. Many families have been using these rooms for years!

Carter Mountain Motel
Just nine blocks away from the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Enjoy the world famous Cody Nite Rodeo. An hour away from Yellowstone National Park, the nation’s oldest and most popular national park!

We have 2 bedrooms and 3 bedrooms/suites…each room with 1 qu bed, TV, desk, dresser, air-cond. Suites also have kitchen and 1 full bathroom, fold out couch. The 4 bedroom suite has 2 full bathrooms and kitchen. All of these are on the ground level.

Sunburst Lodge B&B
We have one room that will accommodate up to 11 people, but it’s more comfortable for up to 6 or 7. It has one queen bed and three bunk beds with full sized lower beds and twin sized upper beds.

Storyteller Pueblo B & B
Frontier history within a short driving distance: historic Ft. Laramie, Oregon Trail ruts, Register Cliff, Independence Rock, Cheyenne/Deadwood Stage Stop and visible trail, Medicine Bow (The Virginian Hotel), Old Territorial Prison.

We have a suite with 2 seperate sleeping rooms, a sitting room with couch, TV, fireplace, refrigerator and room for a folding bed–of course, a bath. Price includes full breakfast.

Agate Inn, Wasilla En-route to Mt. McKinley and Denali National Park, the Agate Inn is just minutes from Wasilla and Palmer with easy access to salmon fishing, glacier hiking, the Iditarod Sled Dog Race headquarters, Independence Mine State Park, Hatcher Pass, the Musk Ox Farm, gold mines, hiking, skiing, and wildlife viewing.

We have several rooms available for families of 5 or 6
Driftwood Inn & Lodges, Homer The Driftwood Inn offers numerous style rooms. We have several rooms that have either 2 double beds and a single bunk configuration sleeping 5 easily, one with 2 double beds with 2 single bunks which sleeps 6 nicely. These rooms on are on the economy side ranging from $89-149 depending on the season. There is also Room 30 with a queen bed on the main level of the room and a queen and twin bed in the loft area. This room is amazing, with a private deck, beautiful views and overlooks the beach.
Driftwood Lodge, Juneau We are located in downtown Juneau Alaska and are just moments away from so many attractions! You will also find a restaurant, a liquor store and a deli right at our door.

We have a two bedroom apartment that will accommodate up to 6 people.
Captains Choice Motel, Haines The Captain’s Choice Motel one of Alaska’s finest motels, is located in magnificent Haines, Alaska. The “CHOICE” offers fantastic views of the ocean water of the Lynn Fjord (Lynn Canal) which is North America’s longest fjord. Our beautiful rooms are luxurious, quiet and very comfortable. The panoramic views of the Lynn Fjord, Portage Cove with its small boat harbor, Fort Seward and the dramatic backdrop of the Cathedral Peak will leave a lasting impression on you. The “CHOICE” is AAA recommended, centrally located in Haines and within walking distance from all shopping and dining facilities.

We have a couple 3 bed suites. The first one has a queen bed and 2 double beds. There are French doors that separate the queen from the doubles.
The second suite has a queen sofa bed and 2 double beds. Here again French doors separate the beds. We do offer AAA, AARP and Military discounts

Denali Fireweed B&B, Healey Located only 10 miles north of Denali National Park, Denali Fireweed Bed and Breakfast is the ideal place to stay on your Alaskan vacation.

We have two bedrooms – one with a queen bed and a futon bed and the other with a queen bed. This can comfortably sleep 2 adults and up to four children. We also have an infant bed that we can set up if necessary. We offer the entire 1400 sq ft of the lower level of our home (one bedroom with a view of the Alaska Range). There is one family bathroom, a large living room, and a kitchenette. We also allow guests to do their laundry at our home which is a big bonus when on the road for days (especially if you’ve experienced some rainy Alaskan days). The best thing is that we only book one family at a time so the entire space is private. This is especially nice when traveling with children because you don’t have to worry about sharing living room, bathroom, and kitchen spaces.
Alaska’s Harvest B&B, Palmer We are conveniently located only 2 miles out of Palmer, on a beautifully wooded 15 acres with peaceful walking trails, a barn with the sheep we raise, and the moose who meander through our back yard. The most incredible thing we have to offer is the spectacular view of the surrounding mountains.

The Pioneer Suite is fantastic for families of 5 or more… sleeps 8 adults comfortably in beds.
Lizzie’s Nest B&B, Fairbanks Join us in the hills north of Fairbanks with a view of Mt. McKinley and the city on 3.5 acres surrounded by Birch, Aspen & Spruce trees with a large front lawn; picnic table, firepit & a deck with BBQ grill. A Scenic location, and only 15 minutes from town.

Our Apt. can sleep five using the Murphy Bed for 2, Futon with memory foam mattress for 2, and a roll-away for 1.
Eat in the apartment stocked kitchenette or upstairs with hosts for a full Alaskan Sourdough Breakfast
Days Inn Downtown Anchorage, Anchorage Just 14 minutes from Anchorage International Airport and 5 minutes from Merrill Field and 6 blocks from the train station. Days Inn Anchorage is ideally located in the heart of Anchorage.

Our kitchenette room has two full sized beds and one full size sofa bed.
Grouchy Old Woman’s B&B, Kenai Located 20 scenic minutes north of Kenai. North Kenai or Nikiski is where you’ll find “Grouchy Old Woman” in her garden tending her flowers or out enjoying the peaceful shores of Daniel’s Lake.

The lower lakeside suite has two bedrooms that will accommodate two adults or the parents in the queenbed room and the room nest to it has two twin beds in it with a trundle available. These two rooms share a bath room and the kitchenette (has microwave but no stove), a refrigerator, and sink. the contiguous sitting room opens out onto the deck and stairs down to the lake. This comes with a full breakfast.
