My name is Drina Murphy and I'm a mother of 3 from South Yorkshire, England. I decided to start Room for 5 after years of frustration when needing a family room for 5. We have needed a Room for 5 on many occasions, mostly for overnight stays, from Ferry crossings, Airport accommodation to family gatherings.

Last year we drove through France and had to stay in seperate rooms overnight in Orleans as I couldn’t find a room for 5. Most family rooms cater for families of 3 or 4 but there are lots of parents out there who have more than the stereotypical 2 kids. Why should we have to pay for 2 rooms and be separated?

After starting this site I am hoping that I won’t have this problem anymore whilst helping other people in the same predicament in the process. I have literally emailed thousands of properties to find these elusive rooms and most of them aren't even advertised.

The purpose of this website is to provide information to parents who have more than the stereotypical 2 children. As a family of 5 we are aware of the difficulties when trying to find a room to accommodate more than the average family of 4, without having to book 2 rooms. For this reason I have decided to set up this website to make the planning of an overnight stay or holiday for a family of 5 or more so much easier as all the information needed will be in one place which saves hours of trawling on the internet.
